Sustainable IT Disposition for Greater Boston
We help businesses and labs extend the lifecycle of decommissioned IT equipment through reuse-first practices and NIST-certified data destruction.
Your Data, SecuredEvery drive is sanitized to NIST SP 800-88 standards with full documentation. Certificates of Destruction provided within 15 business days.
Reuse Over RecyclingWe use software-based wiping to keep functional hardware in circulation — only destroying drives that truly can't be reused.
Flexible CompensationDepending on your equipment, we pay you, pick up for free, or charge a small disposal fee. We'll walk you through the options on-site.
What We Do
We come to you. Our team evaluates your decommissioned hardware on-site and provides a transparent quote with 2–3 compensation options tailored to your equipment's condition and value. Pickup is always free.
Service 1: Equipment Evaluation & Pickup
All storage media is sanitized in compliance with NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 guidelines. We prioritize software-based wiping to preserve drive functionality. Drives that fail verification are sent for physical destruction through our certified partners. You receive a detailed Certificate of Destruction documenting every device by serial number, method, and result.
Service 2: NIST-Certified Data Destruction
Functional equipment is refurbished and resold to budget-conscious buyers, students, and small organizations — extending hardware life and reducing e-waste. Non-functional units are stripped for parts and responsibly recycled.
Service 3: Hardware Refurbishment & Resale
For organizations on regular refresh cycles, we offer structured partnership agreements with quarterly profit sharing, recurring pickup scheduling, and priority service. Ideal for university labs and mid-size offices replacing equipment every 3–5 years.
Service 4: Ongoing Partnerships
Our Process
We visit your location, assess the equipment, and present transparent compensation options — whether that's payment to you, a free pickup, or a small disposal fee for older hardware.
Step 1: Reach OutContact us to schedule a free equipment evaluation. We'll ask a few questions about the type and volume of hardware you're looking to offload.
Step 2: On-Site EvaluationFunctional hardware is refurbished and resold. You receive documentation for your compliance records, and if you're a partnership client, quarterly accounting of proceeds.
Step 3: Pickup & Data DestructionWe transport the equipment to our facility, sanitize all drives per NIST 800-88 standards, and issue a Certificate of Destruction with full device-level detail.
Step 4: Refurbishment & ReportingWhy Work With Us
Most IT asset disposition companies default to shredding. We don't. Our process prioritizes software-based sanitization, keeping functional drives and hardware in use. We only physically destroy what can't be saved — and we track the numbers to prove it.
1
Our data destruction process aligns with NIST SP 800-88 Rev. 2 guidelines. Every device is logged by serial number, wiped or destroyed, verified, and documented in your Certificate of Destruction. Records are retained for five years.
2
Not every pickup looks the same. We offer sliding-scale compensation — from paying you for premium equipment to charging a nominal fee for older hardware — plus profit-share partnerships for ongoing relationships. You choose what works best.
3
We're a Greater Boston operation built on direct relationships, not a call center. We respond quickly, show up on time, and handle your equipment with the same care we'd give our own.

About Chroma
Chroma Technology Services is a Greater Boston IT asset disposition company founded by two brothers with a straightforward idea: decommissioned technology deserves a second chance before it becomes e-waste.
We started in 2023, sourcing and refurbishing surplus hardware from university labs and local businesses. What began as a hands-on side project has grown into a formalized operation — MA-registered LLC, NIST-aligned data destruction procedures, and a purpose-built drive sanitization rig capable of processing nine drives simultaneously.
Joshua leads business development and strategy and specializes in PC hardware. Adam runs day-to-day refurbishment operations and specializes in Apple devices. Together, we've processed hundreds of machines and maintained 100% year-over-year growth since founding.
We serve small and mid-size businesses, university labs, and research facilities across Brookline, Cambridge, Boston, Somerville, and Waltham.
